Environment – Live Event Documentary – Comedy – Adult Themes

The Film

Seven comedians perform live at the Kino Café in Vancouver, British Columbia with jokes, songs and even a power point about climate change, fracking and even straws up turtles noses. Filmmaker Scott Renyard challenged the comics to a theme night, during a sweltering heat wave, to tell jokes about the environment.  The planet’s ecosystem might be in collapsing, but at least we can laugh a little as we go down with the ship.

“Some projects are just meant to be”, says director Scott Renyard. “A chance meeting with Steve Allen, the owner of Kino Café  quickly led to the creation of a theme comedy night for the environment.  Acting on the recommendations of Steve and his business partner Laura, a meeting was held with an amazing group of comics from the Vancouver area.  Within 3 months, the dates were set and the film was underway.

Hosted by Steve Allen and starring Harris “the sick songwriter” Anderson, K.C. “American trash” Novak, Alannah “the fact lady” Brittany, Stuart “the nerd” Jones,  Megan “the history professor” Milton, Simon “the logger” Jones, and Patrick “I’m not doing well” Mahliha.
